A page load is counted when a published page opens. An entry load marks only the first page in a browser visit.

What is measured
Five types of anonymous site-use counts.
These are counts of actions, not unique visitors. A single page load can produce more than one reading signal.
Reading time
One aggregate count may be added when a visible page reaches 15 seconds and again at 45 seconds.
Reading depth
One aggregate count may be added when the visible reading position reaches 50%, 75% and 90% of a page.
Reading actions
Counts may record an internal continuation, an external source opening, search opening or result selection, or interaction with a disclosure or glossary aid. Search terms are never measured.
Quick exits
A page that ends before 15 visible seconds may add a quick-exit count; the first page may also add an entry quick-exit count.
What analytics never stores
SLPA stores no individual activity history or reader identifiers.
- No analytics cookies
- No visitor or session identifier
- No IP address or device fingerprint
- No browser or user-agent profile
- No referrer, search term, query string or URL fragment
- No precise location or demographic profile
Ordinary internet infrastructure still has to process a request to deliver a page. SLPA’s reader-measurement code does not read or copy that network metadata into its analytics database.
Storage and control
Daily totals, held for a rolling 90 days.
First-party storage
Each accepted signal immediately increases a daily counter for one approved page. There is no underlying row for an individual action or reader.
When older totals are deleted
Totals older than 90 days are deleted when a new signal is counted or the private report is opened. This is a rolling, activity-driven retention window rather than a precisely timed midnight purge.
Private reporting
The report is available only to the verified SLPA owner. It labels all totals as page loads and interactions, not unique readers.
Browser privacy settings take priority
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track stop collection before a measurement is processed. The device choice above provides an additional local opt-out.
Cookies and browser storage
No analytics cookies. Display preferences and private app records may stay in your browser.
SLPA does not set analytics or advertising cookies. This browser may store your theme, reading view, optional interface sound, optional touch feedback and reader-measurement choice. Those preferences remain until you change them, use the reset control above or clear this site’s browser data. Display and feedback settings are not sent to SLPA.
My Basket 758. If you use the private price-book tool, its item names, prices, package sizes, stores, dates, notes and household quantities are stored in an IndexedDB database in this browser on this device. The app does not send those basket records to SLPA. You can export a backup, erase the records inside the app or remove them by clearing this site’s browser data. Clearing site data, uninstalling the app or changing devices can erase records that you have not backed up.
The Castries forecast and public RSS sources are fetched through SLPA’s server. Opening an external source takes you to that operator under its own privacy practices.
Service delivery
Hosting systems process the network request needed to deliver and protect the site.
Page delivery and security
Hosting and security providers necessarily process request information such as IP address, browser details, requested path, time and security signals. Their service logs are separate from SLPA’s reader-measurement database.
No third-party font request
Public pages use system fonts. Loading an SLPA page does not contact Google Fonts.
Purpose
Service data is used to deliver, secure and maintain the website. Aggregate reader totals are used only to improve navigation, presentation and publication priorities.
No reader profiling
SLPA does not use site-use totals for advertising, reader profiles or decisions about individual readers.

What happens when you contact SLPA.
Responsibility. Saint Lucia Policy Analysis is founded and edited by Kevin L. Michel. Privacy, correction, source and permission requests are handled through editor@saintluciapolicy.org.
If you email SLPA, we receive the address, name and content you choose to send. We use it to answer you, verify a source, consider a correction or permission request, and maintain an editorial record. Sending a message is voluntary. Without a reply address, we may not be able to respond. Correspondents are not added to marketing lists and their information is not sold.
Routine correspondence is reviewed for deletion within 24 months after a matter closes. Material correction, source-verification, rights and legal records may be retained with the relevant publication while it remains available.
To ask what personal information SLPA holds about you, or to request correction or deletion, email with Privacy request in the subject. We may ask for enough information to locate the record and protect it from unauthorised disclosure.
